Works

Proust is best known for his extended memoir/autobiographical novel, À la recherche du temps perdu, conceived as a work of seven volumes (only the first two are available online):

  • Du côté de chez Swann (1913) [ read | download ]

  • Le côte de Guermantes (1920) [ read | download ]
  • Sodome et Gomorrhe (1922) [ read | download ]
  • La prisonnière (1923)
  • Albertine disparue (1925) (original title: La fugitive)
  • Le temps retrouvé (1927)

À la recherche du temps perdu, was first published in English as "Remembrance of Things Past", translated by C. K. Scott Moncrieff (1889-1930). In the Chatto and Windus Uniform Edition (1941), this was published in 12 Volumes, with the first five Tomes each published in two parts.
