the Novantes inhabited that tract in the Valleys, which spreads a great way towards to the West; yet is so
indented with Creeks, that in some places it is narrow, but towards the end grows wider again; whence some have call’d it
the Chersonessus, or Peninsula, of the Novantes. But now their Country contains, Galloway, Carick,
Kyle, and Cunningham.
